Donna Jean Richter
(nee Kennedy)
March 17, 1953 – August 31, 2004

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2004, in her 51st year, at Northumberland Hills Hospital, with her husband and sons by her side, after accepting the heroic challenge of brain tumour.

Donna was the loving wife and best friend of Marty for over 27 years, and much loved mother of Jamie, Brent and Paul. Daughter of Marion Jean and the late Jack Nielson Kennedy of Cobourg. Dear sister of Russell Kennedy of Cobourg, Dale and her husband Bill Clarke of Bolton, twin sister Diane and her husband Mike McCarter of Eden Mills; and sister-in-law of Paul and Joyce Richter of Oakville and Terry Richter of Toronto. Donna will also be sadly missed by her nieces Danielle, Melissa and Michelle Kennedy of Cobourg, Jennifer Tse (Clarke) of Toronto, Ashley Barr of Toronto, Julie King (Richter) of Burlington, Alicia Richter of Oakville and nephews Jeffery Clark of Vancouver, Andrew, Mike and Graham Barr of Toronto, Luke, Scott, and Reid McCarter of Eden Mills, and many friends and neighbours. Donna’s generous spirit and giving nature endeared her to all who met her. Her passion for life, family sports, and various hobbies was boundless.

Donna displayed great courage and strength in dealing with condition and consequences. She will be greatly missed for her love and wise counsel. We thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Northumberland Hills Hospital for striving to allow her the peaceful passing we all hoped and prayed for. Special thanks also to the many other (health care professionals and spiritual healers), who comforted and offered us hope.

More about Donna's full and rich life at www.dynamicsolutions.ca/donnarichter/.

Donna's paternal grandmother was Marion Neilson Kennedy. Marion's mother was Janet "Jit" McCowan. I will include some material about these two beautiful women in a future issue.
