Robert McCowan, 1900 In this section, I'll include info on the evolution of farm machinery. When the "combine" was invented to cut, thrash and load grain in one integrated machine, farming was changed forever. But sixty or so years earlier, John Weir's father intended to "get a combined one", so interest in integrating agricultural operations in machinery was nothing new.
