Scarborough's Cultural Strategy

I was very pleased to attend the opening reception of the "Scarborough Cultural Strategy Symposium" at the Guild Inn on April 8. The arts, music, literature and our multicultural heritage were discussed by a variety of very interesting speakers from across our diverse ethnic community. Do you have any ideas or priorities for the cultural strategy task force? Give me a call at 416-321-3800 and I'll pass them along.

Scarborough Arts Directory

This comprehensive listing of Scarborough artists, arts organizations, public arts facilities and funding bodies is available free from the Recreation, Parks and Culture Department, 396-7411.

Wordscape

Three Scarborough authors are published in Wordscape, an anthology intended to inspire and highlight the talents of established and beginning authors.

Bill Belfontaine's "Ol' Cal", "A Victorian Romance" by Trudy Scott and Nathalies Stephens' 30 lines of free verse are featured.

In "Ol' Cal", Bill Belfontaine draws on his many years of public service for the City of Scarborough. Bill is President of the Metropolitan Toronto Branch of the Canadian Authors Association. For copies of Wordscape, call Bill at 698-8687.
